I lastly made my dream task and all I had to do was pack up my stuff and move from my family's house in Macon, Georgia, to my brand-new house in Mountain View, California. Hopefully, you'll discover from my many errors.
Cellular Remorse
If only I had taken the time to update my forwarding address at the exact same time, I would've conserved myself a lot of stress. I had not updated my cell phone contract to reflect my new home. Please do not inform my brand-new task how bad I am at mathematics.
Stuck in the '90s
Once we reached the brand-new location, there was another huge issue. I had not kept in mind to switch on the power at my brand-new house. My good friend and I had to lease a space at an extended stay hotel the first couple of nights till the power company arrived. Without power, I also had no other way to know that I 'd forgotten something else essential. I had not attached my cable television and Web services, either. Let me simply say that going several days without Web made me seem like I was caught in the early 1990s. I seemed like getting something pierced and after that seeing a Nirvana concert. Even when I finally had power at my home, I had no other way to surf the web without using my cell phone. This is a great time to remind you that I still didn't know my mobile phone service wasn't updated. I got hit with California roaming charges the entire time I was awaiting the magical look of the cable guy.
The Fuzz
Speaking of expenses, I totally forgot to alter my forwarding address. That suggested that my charge card bill didn't arrive. I got hit with late charges for it. I could have easily prevented this error by registering for paperless service. That wasn't my only change-of-address error, either. I got pulled over by a California policemans. He explained that my license plate wasn't updated. He pointed out that I had more info an out-of-state motorist's license and registration. When you alter states of house, all 3 of those files require updating. I had to pay a $175 ticket and then over $500 for the new licenses. Even if I got a new job does not mean I'm made from loan. here Why do the polices not understand this? When I finally got wise to the truth that I required to update everything, I also attempted to upgrade my vehicle insurance coverage. Would you think they would not let me in the beginning?! I had to send them an entire tree's worth of documents in order to persuade them I 'd moved. Then, they informed me that I 'd have to pay more for insurance coverage in a greater danger state. Also, I 'd need to pay more till my car passed the California emissions test. Think what? It didn't! My cherished 1996 supremely American muscle vehicle is too much of a gas drinker to pass the environmentally-focused state emissions test. So, I'm going to need to pay more up until I buy a brand-new automobile. What have I learned from my experience? Actually one hour of preparation could have conserved me lots of time and thousands of dollars. All I had to do was update all my forwarding information, correct my billing data and cellular phone agreement, and alert my insurance coverage company about the changes. Then, another hour or so at the California Department of Motor Vehicles would've fixed all my license and registration issues. Since I didn't do this, I needed to invest a number of days at a dive motel, got mocked check here mercilessly by my buddy, and lost a lot of loan I might've spent on new furnishings for my new house phone.
